Episode 28: Online PR
In this weeks episode we look at the phenomenon of Online PR. It only takes a customary look in an online directory to see that there are roughly three PR agencies in South Africa for every member of the population. With the "dime a dozen" nature of the industry, it's easy to become slightly jaded on the topic of public relations. For many companies, having a PR Agency promote their services in traditional media is a pointless exercise. If the requirement is to bring online users to the site, surely it makes more sense to have your brand mentioned online?
This week we speak to Melissa Attree of Geton eMarketing, Pedro van Gaalen of Hello World Agency, Sarah Rice from Sentient Communications, Melody Maker of Cerebra, Craig Rodney of Emerging Media and Gavin Moffat of Puruma Communications join us to explain the six facets of Online PR and how to use those tools and strategies to get people speaking about your brand online.
Our Agency of the week is "Wisdom Games" and we are joined by CEO Raymond De Villiers to give us an explanation of how they make games for companies. In our Top Ten we look at "adverts from the 80's". Finally, Diane Charlton joins us for her third tip on online media buying.

Comments:
Customary? Surely you mean cursory?
Yep, traditional PR companies like these are a dime a dozen. And most of them useless, but charging their clients stupid amounts.

This new media has a lot of potential in the emerging economy of Nigeria. Could you explore the business opportunity by opening shop in Lagos?
