Episode 47: The MMORPG
Chances are if you've spent any time online in the past few years you've heard of games such as "World of Warcraft" and "Second Life". These online worlds are known as Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games or "MMORPG's". This week on The Digital Edge we investigate the phenomenon of these successful online worlds.
We speak to developers of online games in the form of local gamers from the "RoseZA" server as well as look internationally to speak to Oscar Garza from Eve Online, the third biggest MMORPG in the world. In order to better understand these games we also speak to players and finally Jerri Mperdempes, someone that makes his living off selling in-game merchandise online.
Finally we also speak to Hein Koen of Flickswitch in our 60-second pitch as well as being joined by Kerry-Anne Gilowey from Cape Town Daily Photo in our news segment.
